Ty Gibbs used a late pit strategy to win the 350‑lap NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway. The 23‑year‑old, grandson of former NFL coach and NASCAR owner Joe Gibbs, held off teammate Christopher Bell in the final 20 laps, winning by 0.253 seconds. Both drivers pitted with 60 laps left, but Bell took four tires while Gibbs chose two, gaining the advantage.

When leader Ross Chastain pitted on Lap 330, Gibbs inherited the top spot and fended off Bell’s late charge. An early pit‑stop issue—Gibbs’s jack fell too early—tipped him back to 28th, but he quickly recovered. The win marks Gibbs’s second of the season and his career, moving him up to second in the standings, 103 points behind Denny Hamlin.

Other notable finishers included pole‑winner Ryan Blaney (third after 129 laps led) and Josh Berry (fourth, his best of the season). The Cup Series continues to Richmond Raceway on Saturday night.
