Tiger Woods Misses All Four Majors Again in 2026 Season

Tiger Woods will sit out golf's major championships for a second consecutive year, failing to enter the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale before last week's deadline. The 50-year-old already missed the Masters and PGA Championship, and lacks an automatic exemption into next month's U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Once a dominant force with 15 major titles and 82 PGA Tour victories, Woods hasn't competed in a Grand Slam event since the 2024 Open Championship. His absence stems from a combination of injuries and legal troubles, including a March arrest near his Jupiter Island, Florida home following a rollover crash where he was found with hydrocodone.

Although he appeared in the TGL finals earlier this year, Woods hasn't completed four tournament rounds since the 2024 Masters. He entered a not guilty plea to misdemeanor DUI charges with property damage and refusal to submit to testing, then left the country to seek treatment and focus on his health.

Woods' prolonged absence represents a significant void in professional golf. Fans and sponsors alike continue waiting for his return to competitive play, though his recent trajectory suggests that comeback remains uncertain at best.
