TCU has agreed to a multiyear contract extension for head coach Sonny Dykes, sources confirmed to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Dykes, who had been under contract through 2028 with a salary exceeding $7 million, has compiled a 36-17 record since taking over the Horned Frogs program in 2022. His tenure includes a College Football Playoff national championship appearance in his first season.

Under Dykes' leadership, TCU has become the winningest Big 12 program over the past four seasons with 36 victories. The Horned Frogs went 9-4 in 2025, capping the season with an overtime victory over USC in the Alamo Bowl. This extension comes as TCU faces significant offensive changes heading into 2026.

The program is preparing for an offensive overhaul after three-year starting quarterback Josh Hoover transferred to Indiana and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles departed for the same position at South Carolina. Harvard transfer quarterback Jaden Craig is considered the front-runner to start when TCU opens its 2026 season against North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland.
