In-form Will Lankshear bagged a brace as Middlesbrough maintained their position at the Championship summit with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Charlton at the Riverside. Sebastian Berhalter opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Lankshear netted twice to take his tally to 15 in all competitions. While the early exchanges were not without the odd nervy moment for a home side who came into the match unbeaten in their last 10 league matches, a long throw into the Boro box led to a quick counter and a shot from the division's top scorer Lankshear, resulting in a corner.
Will Lankshear has now scored 13 goals in as many league games this season, taking his all-competition tally to 15. Sebastian Berhalter produced a tidy finish and a sumptuous through ball, while Riley Mc Gree and Amario Cozier-Duberry also contributed key chances. Nathaniel Chalobah's slip late on allowed Lankshear to seal the win with a left-foot strike into the top corner.
