Scottie Scheffler opened the PGA Tour postseason with an 8-shot victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, posting a 4-under 66 to finish at 17-under 263 at TPC Southwind. The win marked his 21st career title, all since 2022, and his 11th consecutive conversion of a 54-hole lead. Despite enduring five runner-up finishes this season, Scheffler overcame a late bogey after a bunker shot went awry, then birdied two of the next three holes to pull away. He defeated Si Woo Kim by eight shots, with Sam Burns and Alex Noren tying for third. Scheffler earned $3.6 million and secured an additional $23 million in FedEx Cup bonus money as the No. 1 seed heading into the BMW Championship. The victory was particularly meaningful as TPC Southwind had been the course where he'd played the most without winning.

Scheffler's win came after a runner-up finish at the 3M Open, but he credited two weeks at home for helping him find his form. He now sits two victories ahead of the field with two tournaments remaining, putting him in position for a fifth straight PGA Tour Player of the Year award.

The top 50 players advance to next week's BMW Championship in St. Louis, with all assured spots in next year's $20 million signature events. For Kim, the runner-up finish was enough to move from No. 53 into the top 50.

This was the largest margin of victory at TPC Southwind since 1956, breaking the previous record of seven shots set by John Cook in 1996.
