Felix Rosenqvist captured the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, edging David Malukas on the outside and beating teammate Marcus Armstrong by 0.0233 seconds. The margin set a new record for the closest finish in the race’s history, eclipsing the 1992 Al Unser Jr. win by nearly half that time.

A seven‑lap red flag intervened after rookie Caio Collet crashed, flames licking his car before it slid into the grass. Racing resumed, and Armstrong and Malukas surged past Rosenqvist and Pato O’Ward. A second yellow came with three‑and‑a‑half laps left when Mick Schumacher brushed Turn 2, setting up a frantic final restart.

Rosenqvist, driving for Meyer Shank Racing, claimed his second career victory in 120 IndyCar starts, doing so the same month he welcomed his first child. The Swedish driver joins Kenny Brack and Marcus Ericsson as the only Swedes to win the 500, reinforcing the team's growing prestige.

Malukas finished runner‑up, later admitting he could not find a way to hold the lead. Scott McLaughlin took third, while O’Ward settled fourth after two recent runner‑up finishes. The result reshapes the championship leaderboard, giving Rosenqvist valuable points and cementing Meyer Shank Racing as a contender for the season title.
