The PGA Tour, European tour (DP World Tour), and Asian Tour announced a strategic alliance through 2029, dealing a potential setback to LIV Golf. The partnership aims to provide commercial and playing opportunities and establish pathways for Asian Tour members to join European circuits.

LIV Golf had invested $300 million in the Asian Tour since 2022 to create the "International Series" with purses up to $2 million, won by LIV players like Peter Uihlein, Carlos Ortiz, and David Puig. The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, LIV's financial backer, said it will stop funding after this season. LIV CEO Scott O'Neil is seeking investors for 2027 and beyond.

The alliance revives the DP World Tour's previous partnership with the Asian Tour (2016-2021) and includes at least two co-sanctioned events annually for three years. Asian Tour commissioner Cho Minn Thant said the collaboration will "increase the bandwidth of the professional game in Asia." Rory McIlroy praised the move on social media.

The announcement follows a lawsuit by Mobii Systems Group alleging LIV Golf owes $925,100 in unpaid technology fees plus $209,531 in lost revenue. LIV's senior VP of technology Nick Connor reportedly said LIV would stop using the "Any Shot, Any Time" technology after May. PGA Tour's Christian Hardy called the three-tour alliance a "shared vision for the future of professional golf."
