Team Penske capped its 60th anniversary with a historic sweep at Phoenix Raceway, where Josef Newgarden won the IndyCar race and Ryan Blaney claimed victory in NASCAR's Cup Series. The rare combined weekend showcased Penske's dominance across both American racing series, with teammates also securing poles in each series.

Penske's motorsports journey began in open-wheel racing and sports cars before expanding to NASCAR in 1991. The organization returned to stock car racing after a 10-year hiatus, building from a small 10,000-square-foot shop in Mooresville, N.C., with just 15 employees. Rusty Wallace established Penske's NASCAR credibility with 35 wins between 1991-2000.

Today, Team Penske operates from a state-of-the-art facility housing all racing operations under one roof. The team has won three championships in the past five years, trading titles with Hendrick Motorsports. More than 40 employees have remained with Penske for over two decades, reflecting the stability and culture that "The Captain" has built. From Phoenix's combined weekend to six decades of racing excellence, Penske has cemented his status as the gold standard in American motorsports.
