Olivia Miles has turned the 2026 WNBA season into a statistical showcase with averages that stack up against historic rookies. She leads the Minnesota Lynx in scoring at 18.5 points per game, dishing 5.7 assists and grabbing 4.8 rebounds while shooting 51% from the field. Those numbers rank her among the top five rookie point guards in league history.

The Lynx sit at 16-6 after a Wednesday win over Connecticut and will host the New York Liberty on Saturday. Miles sat out the last two games with a calf injury, but she returned to record 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the interchange loss on July 3. Her presence will be a critical factor in the matchup.

Miles is the ninth rookie to earn an All‑Star starter slot and the fourth in four seasons, following Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Paige Bueckers. As a No. 2 draft pick, she is the front‑runner for Rookie of the Year, a title that only one other No. 2 pick—Elena Delle Donne—has captured.

Defensively, the Lynx rank second in points allowed (80.8) and lead the league in defensive rating (101.0). Miles’ growing poise in both halves suggests she can help the team maintain its early‑season momentum and position for a deep playoff run.
