Kewan Lacy, the star running back for No. 4 Ole Miss, is not expected to play against No. 21 Florida on Saturday, coach Pete Golding told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Lacy was downgraded to doubtful on the SEC injury report Friday after suffering a left shoulder injury against LSU last week. He underwent X-rays after the game and an MRI on Sunday. "We still have another chapel session, so I'm not giving up yet," Golding said.

JT Lindsey, a former LSU transfer, and Makhi Frazier, who transferred from Michigan State, will split carries for the Rebels if Lacy can't play. Lacy, a junior, has 39 carries this season for 191 yards and four touchdowns. He previously dealt with a thigh bruise that sidelined him during Ole Miss' season-opening win over Louisville but returned the following week to rush for two touchdowns against Charlotte.

Lacy was an All-America pick and Doak Walker Award finalist last season, setting single-season program records for rushing attempts (306), yards (1,567), and touchdowns (24). Lindsey, a sophomore, has rushed for 48 yards on 12 attempts this season, while Frazier, a junior, has 38 yards on nine carries.

For Florida, wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., who has yet to make his debut for the Gators due to a sprained left ankle, will be a game-time decision. Coach Jon Sumrall told ESPN he feels decent about Singleton's chances to play. Singleton, who spent one season at Auburn after two years at Georgia Tech, caught 58 passes for 534 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers in 2025.
