Former UFC and PFL champion Francis Ngannou will make his MMA return on May 16 in the co-main event of Most Valuable Promotions' inaugural fight card. Ngannou faces Brazilian heavyweight Philipe Lins in a five-round bout that will stream live on Netflix as part of a historic MMA showcase.

Ngannou's return comes after he parted ways with the PFL, where he fought once in MMA and twice in boxing. The Cameroonian knockout artist said he's "evolving" and ready to reclaim his status as the sport's most feared heavyweight. His opponent Lins, a former UFC and Bellator competitor, won the 2018 PFL heavyweight tournament but hasn't fought at heavyweight in nearly six years.

The card is headlined by a Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano matchup, creating unprecedented star power for a single MMA event. Both fights will be contested under Unified Rules of MMA in a hexagon cage with 4-ounce gloves.
