Lucas Jumalon, a 22-year-old professional poker player from Spokane, Washington, completed a wire-to-wire victory Wednesday night to win the 2026 World Series of Poker main event and $10 million. He becomes the second-youngest champion in history, behind Joe Cada who won at 21 in 2009.

Jumalon needed just 17 hands of heads-up play to eliminate Finland's Lauri Saaskilahti. After a dramatic hand where Saaskilahti's flush briefly cut Jumalon's lead, Jumalon reestablished dominance with a massive pot that gave him 519 million of 553 million chips in play. Two hands later, Jumalon's three sixes ended the tournament.

"I blacked out, I'm pretty sure," Jumalon said of the final moments. He admitted being terrified before play, channeling Mike Tyson's pre-fight mindset. Saaskilahti earned $6 million as runner-up, his largest career cash by far.

The tournament drew 9,208 entrants, the fourth-largest main event in WSOP's 56-year history, generating a prize pool of $85,634,400. Jumalon held the chip lead from 13 players remaining through the final table.
