Kansas State is set to hire Casey Alexander as its new men's basketball coach, according to sources. Alexander, who led Belmont to a 26-win season and the Missouri Valley regular-season title, will replace Jerome Tang after Tang was fired last month. The move brings a proven winner to Manhattan after a turbulent season for the Wildcats.

Alexander has built an impressive resume over his 10-year head coaching career, winning at least 20 games in each of his last 10 seasons. At Belmont, he compiled a 166-60 record, capturing three regular-season championships. His teams transitioned successfully from the Ohio Valley Conference to the Missouri Valley Conference, demonstrating his ability to navigate conference realignment and maintain success.

Before Belmont, Alexander spent six seasons at Lipscomb, taking the Bisons to the NCAA tournament in 2018. His coaching journey includes two seasons at Stetson. At Kansas State, Alexander inherits a program that won just 13 games this season. The potential for key players to follow him from Nashville could provide immediate stability as he attempts to rebuild the Wildcats' program.
