Haines Claps Back at Alabama After Rose Bowl Rout

Indiana's 38-3 Rose Bowl victory over Alabama stands as the Crimson Tide's most lopsided bowl defeat ever. Former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson recently suggested on a podcast that Indiana's defense wasn't complex, claiming "they do the same thing every down" and that he knew exactly what was coming before leaving with a cracked rib.

Indiana defensive coordinator Bryant Haines responded to Simpson's comments with a sharp social media post, calling them "adorable." Haines countered that Indiana had thoroughly scouted Alabama's offense, noting, "We also saw everything they were doing, on every single snap... It's just that we exploited those cues. And didn't get frozen and crushed by them."

Following their Rose Bowl triumph, Indiana went on to capture their first national championship by defeating Oregon and Miami. Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza is expected to be the first selection in the upcoming NFL draft. The Hoosiers, who had a school-record nine players attend the NFL scouting combine, will hold their spring game Thursday before opening the season September 5th against North Texas.
