Colorado transfer Isaiah Johnson has committed to play for Texas, marking a major addition for Coach Sean Miller's program. Johnson developed rapidly during his freshman campaign, transforming from an unranked high school prospect into one of the nation's most effective young playmakers after leaving the Buffaloes.

Johnson’s production was undeniable in Boulder, averaging 16.9 points and 3.0 assists while showcasing efficiency across the board. His scoring highlights included 27 points against BYU and a 28-point outburst versus Arizona. He proved adept at drawing fouls, finishing sixth in the Big 12 in free-throw rate.

This transfer fills an immediate void in the Longhorns’ backcourt following the departures of seniors like Jordan Pope and Tramon Mark. Johnson’s arrival, coupled with starting center Matas Vokietaitis announcing his return Friday, gives Texas a much-needed infusion of proven talent right away.

Johnson’s move represents one of eight players exiting the Colorado program following their 17-16 season. He slots directly into a primary ball-handling role, suggesting the Longhorns expect him to command significant offensive responsibility from day one next season.
