Cincinnati is set to name Utah State's Jerrod Calhoun its next head coach, per ESPN sources. The Ohio native returns to his alma mater after a successful stint at Utah State, where he led the Aggies to a 55-15 record and two straight NCAA tournament appearances. Calhoun, a 2004 Cincinnati graduate, previously coached Youngstown State (118-106) and Fairmont State, with a five-year assistant tenure under Bob Huggins at West Virginia.

His 2023-24 team went 26-8, won the Mountain West regular season, and advanced to the NCAA tournament’s second round before losing to Arizona. The hire marks the fourth consecutive Utah State coach to depart after an NCAA tournament run, continuing a pattern of rapid program turnover.
