Eastern Idaho prosecutor Lindsey Blake announced the misdemeanor drug case against former Olympic skier Bode Miller will be dismissed. Miller, 48, was arrested June 6 in Fremont County on possession of psilocybin mushrooms and paraphernalia. Despite probable cause, Blake said new information tied to another active case justified dropping the charges. The decision arrives as Miller’s legal team had already argued the evidence was insufficient.

Deputy Jacob Hurt’s probable‑cause report noted a white dispensary bag containing 4.1 grams of the mushrooms found during a traffic stop after Miller accelerated to pass another vehicle. Miller claimed his friend possessed a small amount of cannabis and a pipe, which he did not know about, and maintained he had no drugs on his person. No other individuals were arrested; the other man stays charged.

Lawyer Jeromy Stafford has not responded to media inquiries, but Miller’s Instagram post expressed confidence that the facts would exonerate him. Reaction has been mixed, with some fans defending his legacy while others question his judgment. The case’s closure spares the retired champion, whose career includes six Olympic medals and 33 World Cup victories, from a legal blemish that could have tarnished his post‑sport reputation.
