Four-time WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale is returning to the Dallas Wings on a seven-figure, multiyear contract, sources told ESPN. The 5-foot-8 guard had been extended a core qualifying offer earlier this week that would have made her eligible for the $1.4 million supermax in 2026, but she's taking less to help the team build a competitive roster around her.

Ogunbowale, who was drafted No. 5 overall by Dallas in 2019 out of Notre Dame, has established herself as one of the league's premier scorers. During her six seasons with the Wings, she's earned three all-WNBA selections, led the league in scoring in 2020, and captured two All-Star Game MVP honors. Her commitment comes as the Wings prepare for Monday's draft with the No. 1 overall pick and new head coach Jose Fernandez.

Despite averaging a career-low 15.5 points per game in 2025 as Dallas finished last in the standings, Ogunbowale remains dedicated to the franchise that drafted her. The 28-year-old guard will team with 2025 first overall pick Paige Bueckers as the Wings aim to return to the playoffs. Ogunbowale also won a championship this past offseason at Unrivaled with Mist B.C.
