Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson suffered a muscle strain after slipping on the innovative glass court during the Big 12 tournament, forcing him to watch from the bench as Iowa State defeated the Red Raiders 75-53. The injury occurred with 8½ minutes remaining when Anderson's foot slipped near his own free throw line during an inbounds play.

Anderson immediately grabbed his groin area and limped to the bench, where he remained for the rest of the game. The all-conference player described the incident as an unnatural movement caused by the slippery surface. This incident adds to growing concerns about the ASB GlassFloor technology, which has drawn mixed reviews since its debut at the tournament.

The glass surface, featuring LED panels and ceramic coating, was intended to modernize the Big 12 tournaments but has proven problematic for players. Multiple athletes have complained about its slick nature, with Iowa State's Joshua Jefferson switching sneakers at halftime during a previous game. Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland noted the floor creates 'challenging movements' particularly for quick guard play.
