A'ja Wilson delivered a historic performance Friday night, pouring in 45 points to lead the Las Vegas Aces past the Connecticut Sun 101-94. Wilson connected on 15 of 18 shots from the field and converted all 13 free throw attempts, becoming the first player in WNBA history to score 45 or more points while shooting 80% from the floor.

The victory marked Las Vegas' third consecutive win after an opening-night loss to Phoenix. Chennedy Carter complemented Wilson's explosion with 18 points, continuing her stellar return to the league following a season overseas. Carter entered the game averaging 19.7 points in just 21 minutes while shooting an impressive 73% from the field.

Connecticut struggled mightily without key contributors. Brittney Griner missed her second straight game with a left foot injury, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa sat out with a right ankle issue. Aaliyah Edwards made her season debut for the Sun, contributing six points in 17 minutes.

Wilson's dominance was evident early as she scored 19 first-half points on 6-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 in the opening quarter. The Aces' balanced attack and Wilson's historic efficiency proved too much for a depleted Connecticut squad to handle.
