Purdue secured a major recruiting victory with the commitment of 7-foot center Isaiah Hill, ranked No. 8 nationally in the class of 2027. The Indianapolis product chose the Boilermakers over Louisville and Florida State, becoming Purdue's highest-ranked recruit since the ESPN recruiting database launched in 2007.

Hill brings elite size and rim protection to West Lafayette, sporting a 7-5 wingspan that anchors his defensive game. During the first Nike EYBL session, he averaged 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.0 blocks while shooting 64% from the field. His mobility and length make him a natural successor to Zach Edey's dominant center role.

The commitment continues Purdue's evolution as "Big Man U," following recent success with Caleb Swanigan and Edey. Hill emphasized his long-standing relationship with coach Matt Painter, dating back to eighth grade, and praised the program's academic support.

This addition gives Purdue momentum in the 2027 recruiting cycle after landing five four-star prospects in 2026, including three SC Next 100 recruits.
