NBA Playoff Hopes Diminish
Concerns are mounting across the Eastern Conference as two major contenders suffered setbacks, threatening seeding battles down the stretch. Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo faces at least a week on the sidelines after tests confirmed a hyperextended left knee and a bone bruise, meaning he will be reevaluated next week. Meanwhile, MVP candidate Cade Cunningham exited Tuesday night's victory over the Wizards early due to debilitating back spasms, casting doubt on the Pistons' immediate outlook.
The injury woes extend to the Western Conference, where the Memphis Grizzlies announced that both guard Scotty Pippen Jr. and forward Santi Aldama underwent season-ending surgery on Tuesday. These simultaneous procedures remove two key rotational players from the lineup, confirming that the team’s current struggles will continue unabated through the final weeks of the regular season schedule.
