AL Central & NL East Injury Woes
The Tampa Bay Rays will begin the season without veteran infielder Gavin Lux, who has been placed on the injured list due to a right shoulder impingement, delaying his debut with the club. This latest setback follows similar injury news out of the National League East, where the Atlanta Braves rotation is already strained as right-hander Spencer Strider lands on the IL after an oblique strain diagnosis. These early injuries immediately impact Opening Day expectations for two clubs aiming for postseason contention in their respective divisions.
Front Office Stability in Toronto
In organizational news, the Toronto Blue Jays secured their leadership structure by announcing contract extensions for the top brass. Manager John Schneider received a two-year extension, while General Manager Ross Atkins secured a longer five-year agreement to remain at the helm of baseball operations. These moves signal organizational commitment to the current strategic direction heading into the new campaign.
