AL Central & East Division Moves
The Tampa Bay Rays face an immediate setback as veteran infielder Gavin Lux is slated to begin the year on the injured list due to a right shoulder impingement, delaying his debut with the club. This personnel news follows a similar blow to the Atlanta Braves rotation, where right-hander Spencer Strider will also start on the IL after an MRI confirmed an oblique strain, placing pressure on the team's pitching depth early in the campaign. The Toronto Blue Jays countered personnel turbulence by securing their leadership core, announcing a two-year contract extension for manager John Schneider while locking up general manager Ross Atkins with a comprehensive five-year deal aimed at stability.
