Blue Jays lock in Schneider Atkins extensions after World Series run

The Toronto Blue Jays cemented their front office and dugout leadership Monday, extending manager John Schneider and general manager Ross Atkins through the next several seasons. Schneider's two-year contract runs through 2028, while Atkins' five-year extension secures his position through 2031. These moves follow a remarkable 2025 campaign where Toronto won 94 games, captured the American League East title, and reached the World Series for the first time since 1993, though they fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.

Schneider, 46, has transformed the club since taking over in July 2022, compiling a 303-257 record and finishing runner-up for AL Manager of the Year. His extension marks the 14th managerial tenure in franchise history. Atkins, 52, hired in 2015, is now the second-longest-tenured GM, having guided the Jays to five postseason appearances despite a rebuild phase.

His leadership helped land franchise cornerstone Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a historic 14-year, $500 million extension last April.
