Postseason Results
The Dodgers advanced to their third straight NLCS after Andy Pages delivered a clutch hit from the No. 9 spot, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto outdueled Chris Sale to give Los Angeles a 2-1 NLDS lead over Atlanta. The Dodgers went on to close out the Braves with a 4-1 win in Game, with Miguel Rojas sitting out the contest due to back trouble.
The Brewers secured a rematch with the Dodgers after a win over the Padres, aided by Garrett Mitchell's late home run robbery of Manny Machado. Meanwhile, the Padres kept their hopes alive as fans' Blink-182 chant moved Tom DeLonge, and Mason Miller returned from the paternity list to be available for Game. Brewers starter Robert Gasser will take the mound in that matchup.
American League Division Series
The Rays swept the Yankees to reach the ALCS, with Victor Mesa Jr. hitting the home run that effectively ended New York's season. Tampa Bay also celebrated the win with a musical jab at the Yankees. In the Bronx, a fan interference call wiped out a potential tying home run in the sixth inning of Game, and Aaron Judge watched the elimination from the home dugout, calling for the front office to go all in.
Cleveland kept its season alive with a do-or-die Game 3 win powered by Jose Ramirez, and the Guardians will look to even the series ahead of Game. Earlier, the White Sox and Guardians both used openers in Game 3 as Chicago looked to complete a sweep.
Front Office and Labor
Alex Cora again declined the chance to manage the Phillies and plans to take the 2027 season off. President Donald Trump announced he will award Roger Clemens the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Meanwhile, the postseason has prompted questions about the league's labor negotiations, including whether a Dodgers three-peat could push a salary cap forward.
