Rory McIlroy withdrew from the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Saturday when he felt muscle spasms in his back that were not going away. A back injury also saw McIlroy withdraw from the event in Orlando before the third round. Olympic figure skating gold medalist Alysa Liu has withdrawn from the world championships later this month.

Cycling

Four-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar soloed to victory as he wins the Strade Bianche for a record fourth time. The race saw dramatic developments as Thomas Detry was among eight players from LIV Golf stuck in the Middle East amid the Israeli-U.S. attacks on Iran. Jon Rahm arranged a flight to get them to Hong Kong for the LIV event.

President Donald Trump says he will write an executive order within a week that will "solve all of the problems" brought forth in an unprecedented meeting at the White House to address the future of college sports.

St. Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt is expected to retire after this season, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Schmidt, is the all-time wins leader in program history. The Tar Heels will miss star freshman Caleb Wilson as the stakes rise, but his draft stock shouldn't plummet.
