MLB Roster Finalizations & Injury Updates
Several clubs finalized Opening Day rosters following strong spring performances, though some depth pieces faced setbacks. The Rangers added veteran McCutchen to their squad after the 39-year-old outfielder posted an impressive .444 batting average with three doubles and a home run during exhibition games. Similarly, the Cardinals promoted top prospect Wetherholt, the seventh overall pick in the 2024 draft, to the major league roster immediately. The Mets confirmed Benge starting in right field following his .366 spring average, while the Tigers signed Seabold to a one-year split deal as they concurrently shifted reliever Beau Briske to the 60-day injured list.
Meanwhile, the Brewers avoided a major blow as two-time All-Star Brandon Woodruff will not require an injured list stint, slotting him in to make his fifth start of the season on March 31 against an opponent yet to be fully specified.
