Robinhood's Ventures Fund I IPO attracted 150,000+ retail investors, democratizing access to private tech companies through a publicly traded fund on NYSE. CEO Vlad Tenev highlighted the success at The Wall Street Journal's Future of Everything conference, positioning the fund as the next evolution in Robinhood's mission to open markets to everyday investors.

The fund provides exposure to major private companies like OpenAI, Stripe, Databricks, and others with valuations in the hundreds of billions. Tenev coined the term "frontier companies" to describe these larger private players, noting that some AI companies are raising capital at $850+ billion valuations before going public.

Unlike traditional venture capital funds which charge a 20% carry, Robinhood's fund offers no accreditation requirements and no carry, only a management fee. Tenev envisions retail investors participating in early rounds like seed and Series A, allowing them to benefit from potential appreciation in the private markets.
