Imagi, an edtech platform co-founded by Dora Palfi and Beatrice Ionascu, has announced a $4.5 million seed funding round. The company focuses on providing K-12 students and teachers with tools for coding, computer skills, and AI literacy.

Investors in this round include Brighteye Ventures, Day One Capital, and Will.i.am. A key development is Imagi's partnership with the "vibe-coding" tool Lovable, enabling teachers to create lessons and offer students controlled access to AI tools with safety guardrails. OpenAI has also contributed $1 million in credits for free access to the Imagi x Lovable tool for schools.

Imagi emphasizes safe AI deployment, with all prompts and responses screened to prevent violations before reaching students. The platform complies with COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR, ensuring no data retention and that student data is not used for training. The funding will support scaling into K-12 schools, district sales, hiring, product development, and the launch of a new platform next month. Imagi has already reached over 700,000 students globally.
