Revolut Restricts Remote Work for Entry-Level Staff in Policy Shift

Revolut is scaling back remote work for graduates and interns, requiring them to work from the office three days weekly starting next year. The London fintech has hired over 300 graduates and interns this year, ending its fully flexible model that previously allowed remote work, office attendance, or overseas assignments for up to 120 days annually.

The policy shift stems from Revolut's recognition that early-career workers benefit from in-person collaboration and closer monitoring. While new graduates face office requirements, those completing the program from 2027 will transition to standard remote contracts. For other employees, the remote-first policy remains unchanged, preserving the flexible work culture central to Revolut's recruitment strategy.

This approach contrasts sharply with traditional banks. JPMorgan eliminated hybrid work in March 2023, mandating five-day office returns, while Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon previously called remote work an "aberration." Revolut has invested heavily in physical infrastructure, moving its global headquarters to a 113,000 square foot Canary Wharf building and signing a 10-year lease in Paris.

The adjustment represents strategic balance rather than retreat from flexible work. Revolut maintains remote options for experienced staff while introducing structured office presence for newcomers, preserving its competitive talent acquisition edge while ensuring proper mentorship and development for junior employees.
