A Berlin software company employee described her boss’s AI-generated reply to a sick-day message: ‘Was it really so hard to type, ‘no problem, feel better soon’?’ The trend has led to workplace jokes like ‘chatfisher’—a term for suspected AI users—and sarcastic comments such as ‘This email sounds so ChatGPT.’ Artem Kuchukov, CEO of German robotics firm Kewazo, admitted using AI for onboarding announcements before his team mocked the impersonal messages. ‘People saw through this very quickly,’ he said, forcing him to blend AI drafts with personal touches.
