The market is also home to one of its youngest and fastest-growing LPs: Investment Management Corporation of Ontario. Formed in 2016 to pool Ontario public sector funds, the institution had built a more than C$11 billion ($8 billion; €6.9 billion) portfolio as of recent reporting. IMCO is shifting focus toward European markets, with Elia leading the strategic tilt.

The LP continues to emphasize small buyouts and mega-transactions as key drivers of distributions, while also observing increased impact investing commitments from APAC family offices. This evolution reflects IMCO’s maturing strategy as it balances domestic roots with global expansion in private equity.
