Affinity Equity Partners, the pan-Asian buyout shop, has lost another senior executive amid a wave of departures. The firm has seen at least nine senior departures since the start of 2023, including four partners in the last 12 months, signaling ongoing turbulence at the Hong Kong-headquartered private equity house.

Zheng Wei Sim, an executive director on the investor relations team, left the firm on 27 July, according to filings with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. Sim confirmed his departure in a LinkedIn message to Private Equity International, noting that he will be joining another investment firm but declining to name the new employer.

The latest exit follows a string of high-profile departures that have raised questions about stability at the firm, which manages over $13 billion across its funds. Affinity has not publicly commented on the turnover, though industry observers note the pace of senior-level exits is unusual for a shop of its stature.
