Advent has opened an office in Abu Dhabi, establishing the private equity firm’s first local base in the Middle East and bringing it closer to some of its most important investors.
The office will explore potential investment opportunities and build on Advent’s long-standing relationships with Middle Eastern investors. It will be led by Mehdi Iraqi, Managing Director in Advent’s Limited Partner Services team. Iraqi joined Advent in January 2026 after almost two decades covering institutional investors across the region, including previous roles at AMG and Carlyle.
“Abu Dhabi is the latest stop in Advent’s international expansion. The firm opened in Sydney in July 2024, launched a Tokyo office in January 2026, and earlier this year made Hong Kong its regional base for investor engagement in Asia-Pacific. Advent now operates 18 offices in 15 countries.
For ADGM, Advent adds to a growing roster of global investment firms. Arvind Ramamurthy, ADGM’s Chief Market Development Officer, said the decision reflects the strength of Abu Dhabi as a leading destination for global investment firms.
