Warburg Pincus has made a majority investment in TheGuarantors, a New York-based residential lease guarantee platform that helps millions of renters access housing. The fintech company, founded by Julien Bonneville, will continue operating under its existing leadership team as part of the deal.

No financial terms were disclosed, but the investment will enable TheGuarantors to scale its operations and build out its platform. The company uses proprietary data and AI-driven underwriting to create value for both tenants and landlords through deep integrations with leading property managers.

Jeff Stein, Warburg Pincus's head of US financial services, praised TheGuarantors as a "category-defining platform" in residential lease guarantees. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2026. Evercore and Cooley LLP advised TheGuarantors, while Howden Capital Markets & Advisory LLC and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz represented Warburg Pincus.
