TA Associates has made a growth investment in Govineer Solutions, a Provo, Utah-based provider of software and payments solutions for local governments. The investment will support Govineer's evolution into an AI-powered operating system for municipalities. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.

Peterson Partners will fully exit its stake in Govineer as part of the deal. Meanwhile, the existing management team and employees will retain a meaningful ownership position in the business. Govineer's platform currently serves more than 2,300 towns, municipalities, and special districts across 43 states.

The deal underscores continued investor interest in the govtech sector, which has benefited from increased digital transformation spending at the local government level. Govineer's AI focus positions it to capture demand from cash-strapped municipalities seeking to modernize operations and reduce costs.
