Ruppert Landscape, a commercial landscaping firm based in Laytonsville, Maryland, has completed the acquisition of Wilmington, North Carolina‑based Landscapes Unlimited. The deal brings the latter’s founder and president, Todd McCabe, into Ruppert’s leadership team as a partner. The transaction expands Ruppert’s footprint into the Wilmington market, adding to its national presence.

The purchase follows Ruppert’s December 2022 partnership with private‑equity firm Knox Lane, which has supplied capital for the company’s aggressive growth plan. With the addition of Landscapes Unlimited, Ruppert now operates from 54 locations across the United States, reinforcing its strategy to dominate the Southeast’s commercial lawn‑care segment.

Phil Key, CEO of Ruppert Landscape, praised McCabe’s track record, noting the acquired firm’s deep community roots and strong customer reputation. He said the alignment of operational expertise and cultural values would accelerate Ruppert’s service capabilities and enable cross‑selling opportunities among existing clients in the region.

The acquisition underscores a broader trend of consolidation among regional landscaping providers seeking scale to win larger commercial contracts. By integrating Landscapes Unlimited’s local knowledge with Ruppert’s national platform, the combined entity is positioned to capture higher‑margin projects and improve bargaining power with suppliers.
