New software, including agentic AI applications, is fueling provider adoption of patient engagement technology as labor shortages strain healthcare providers. PE dealmakers like Main Capital, New Mountain Capital and Marlin Equity Partners see opportunities to scale these capabilities via M&A. Chris Dorn, managing director at Fifth Third Securities, said agentic AI represents an "inflection point" for the sector, noting PE committees now demand significant ROI and long-term contracts.

Marlin Equity Partners' portfolio company Radar Healthcare acquired Cemplicity, a patient experience platform with operations in London, Auckland, Australia, the Middle East and the UK. New Mountain Capital-backed Swoop acquired Nimble, a prescription management platform based in Redwood City, California. Meanwhile, Flexpoint Ford closed the sale of Artes Rx, a behavioral health pharmacy, to Linden Capital Partners.

The transaction highlights growing PE interest in specialty pharmacy and mental health services. These deals reflect broader trends of technology-enabled patient engagement and specialized pharmacy services attracting private equity investment.
