Omni Partners has appointed Elliot Tahmasebi as a partner in London to strengthen its sourcing and execution in the lower mid-market. Tahmasebi will focus mainly on founder-led businesses in the financial, professional and business services sectors, leading new platform investments in profitable, privately owned companies.
His appointment is the latest in a series of senior hires as Omni scales its investment activity across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. Tahmasebi brings more than a decade of experience in financial and business services, including regulated segments of the market. As managing director of private equity at Copper Street Capital, he gained experience leading platform investments and acquisitions and working with founders and management teams to scale services businesses.
Charles Gallagher-Powell, head of PE and partner at Omni, said in a statement that financial, professional and business services are some of the most active consolidation markets in the UK and among the hardest to get right, since regulation, integration, culture and client retention must all be managed at once. He said Tahmasebi has spent significant time leading platform investments and add-on acquisitions in this space, adding real depth to Omni's tech-enabled services strategy.
Tahmasebi said in a statement that the strongest businesses in the sector over the next decade will be those that invest early in their systems, people and leadership.
