MyEyeDr, a vision care and eyewear provider backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Charlesbank Capital Partners, has acquired Lumina Vision Partners, an eye care practice group operating in Arizona and Texas. The deal marks another expansion for the Vienna, Virginia-based company as it scales its retail optical footprint across the United States.

Lumina Vision Partners was founded in 2020, building its presence in the Southwest and Texas markets over the past four years. The acquisition adds to MyEyeDr's rapid growth trajectory, with the company projecting it will reach 1,000 locations in the first half of 2026—roughly doubling its current footprint.

The transaction reflects continued consolidation in the fragmented optometry and eyewear retail sector, where private equity-backed players are racing to achieve scale. MyEyeDr's dual private equity sponsors bring significant firepower for an acquisition-heavy growth strategy.

The buy-and-build approach has become standard in the optical retail space, where economies of scale in purchasing and operations can drive profitability across larger networks of locations.
