The acquisition brings together Mountaingate's investment capabilities with UpSwell's specialized marketing services for local businesses. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the announcement.

UpSwell serves clients across diverse locally focused consumer service industries, including automotive repair, fitness, health and wellness, dental, and home services. The company has built a reputation for helping service-based businesses grow their customer base through targeted marketing strategies that leverage both digital and traditional channels in their respective markets.

Post-acquisition, Eric Goodstadt, CEO of UpSwell, will continue leading the company alongside Tim Ross, founder and president. This continuity in leadership suggests Mountaingate plans to maintain UpSwell's operational approach while potentially providing additional resources for expansion in the competitive local marketing services sector.
