MidOcean Partners has agreed to sell Zonda, a Newport Beach, California-based data, marketplace, and software platform for new homes, to CoStar Group. Founded in 1976, Zonda serves more than 3,000 customers across the homebuilding lifecycle, positioning it as a significant player in the residential real estate technology sector.

No financial terms were disclosed in the transaction, though Sara Badham, managing director at MidOcean, emphasized their goal to "create the preeminent platform for data, insights and technology across the residential housing ecosystem." The acquisition represents CoStar's continued expansion into residential real estate markets beyond its traditional commercial focus.

The deal underscores CoStar's strategic push into residential property data and analytics, complementing its existing commercial real estate offerings. For MidOcean, the sale completes their investment in Zonda, which they helped develop into a comprehensive platform serving homebuilders, developers, and financial institutions across the United States.
