Latticework Capital portfolio company Life Science Connect (LSC) has acquired Brevis Refero, a Toronto-based biopharma consulting company and developer of the RFP>Navigator digital platform, for undisclosed terms. Founded in 2017 by Terry Cochrane, Brevis Refero supports biopharma companies from early development through GMP manufacturing and clinical trials. Its RFP>Navigator platform helps drug developers source contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs).

Users can manage RFPs and NDAs, engage prospective providers, track proposals and compare responses across pricing, capabilities, quality, regulatory experience and other criteria. The platform is designed to cut the time needed to move from a long list of potential partners to a qualified shortlist from approximately six to eight months to six to eight weeks. It also lets CDMOs assess potential projects quickly, so they can focus their business development on suitable clients.

Brevis Refero's consulting business will continue alongside the platform. LSC has helped life science professionals find insights and partners for more than 40 years, through digital communities, original content, events and audience engagement programs. Its outsourcing offerings include Outsourced Pharma, Pharma Source, CDMO Live and the CDMO Leadership Awards.

The deal extends those capabilities, moving LSC from helping clients research potential partners to helping them manage the selection process. Jon Howland is LSC's CEO. LSC will initially focus on growing awareness and adoption of RFP>Navigator in the CDMO outsourcing market, including by connecting it with its existing outsourcing communities and CDMO Live events.

It will continue working with Cochrane and the Brevis Refero team on the platform's development and growth.
