LS Power has agreed to acquire Constellation Energy's PJM gas generation portfolio for $5 billion, adding approximately 4.4 gigawatts of dispatchable capacity. The deal encompasses facilities including Bethlehem, York 1, York 2, Hay Road, and Edge Moor in Pennsylvania and Delaware. This acquisition positions LS Power to supply critical baseload power to the congested PJM grid, where demand is surging. CEO Paul Segal highlighted the assets' role in delivering reliable, around-the-clock power, stating they meet the grid's urgent need for efficient gas generation.
