Liberty Expands North Carolina Waste Footprint with M&M Acquisition

Liberty Waste Solutions has acquired M&M Garbage Disposal, adding another residential waste collection business to its North Carolina operations. The deal strengthens Liberty's position in the state's waste management market, building on its integrated waste and recycling services platform.

The acquisition follows Liberty's purchases of AJ Disposal and Randolph County Garbage Services earlier this year, signaling an aggressive consolidation strategy in the regional waste sector. By adding M&M's Asheboro-based operations, Liberty extends its geographic reach and customer base across central North Carolina.

Allied Industrial Partners, which initially invested in Liberty in 2022, has backed this expansion push. The private equity firm supported Liberty's strategic shift in April 2024 when the company divested its scrap metal division to focus exclusively on waste solutions.

This rollup strategy positions Liberty Waste Solutions as a larger competitor in North Carolina's fragmented waste collection market, potentially attracting further acquisition opportunities or positioning the company for eventual exit.
