Goldman Sachs has agreed to acquire Neos Investments, a Westport, Connecticut-based specialized provider of systematic options‑based income exchange‑traded funds, for $2.25bn. As of June 30, 2026, Neos manages $30bn in assets across 19 options‑based income ETFs. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.

At closing, co‑founders and managing partners Troy Cates and Garrett Paolella will join Goldman Sachs Asset Management as partners, along with the full Neos team, including founders, investors, and client‑service teams. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said the acquisition complements its buffer, managed‑outcome and income strategies, offering investors a diverse toolkit for various market environments.

Goldman Sachs was advised by Goldman Sachs Global Banking & Markets, with legal counsel from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, while Barclays and Ropes & Gray represented Neos. Neos was founded in 2022.
