Goldman Sachs Alternatives is making a strategic investment in Schellman, a Tampa-based provider of cybersecurity compliance and attestation services. The investment, which will close in the second quarter of 2026, aims to accelerate Schellman's growth trajectory as it expands capabilities and scales its team.

Lightyear, which has been Schellman's majority investor since 2021, will continue its investment alongside Goldman Sachs. The deal comes as cybersecurity compliance becomes increasingly critical for businesses navigating complex regulatory requirements. Avani Desai serves as Schellman's CEO, leading the company through this next phase of expansion.

The investment will enable Schellman to serve clients across more markets and geographies while enhancing its service offerings. Davis Polk and Reed Smith acted as legal counsel to Lightyear and management respectively, while Baird served as exclusive financial advisor to Schellman. Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC advised Goldman Sachs, with Weil, Gotshal & Manges providing legal counsel.
