Flatirons, a Boulder‑based provider of technical content and task‑management software for aerospace, aviation, MRO and defense, announced the acquisition of San Francisco‑headquartered AI platform Scope AR. The deal places the purchase under the Flatirons Solutions brand, a portfolio company of Teleo Capital Management. CEO Scott Montgomerie will lead the newly combined unit.

Scope AR counts major defense and aerospace firms among its clients, including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Rolls‑Royce, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Honeywell, Oshkosh and General Dynamics. Its AI‑enabled platform overlays digital instructions onto physical equipment, streamlining complex procedures. By folding this capability into Flatirons’ workflow suite, the combined entity can offer end‑to‑end digital work instructions across the entire product lifecycle.

The acquisition deepens Flatirons’ footprint in a market where digital twins and augmented reality gain traction, giving investors a clearer path to monetize high‑margin services. With Scope AR’s customer base now tied to Flatirons’ platform, cross‑selling opportunities expand and the firm positions itself as a one‑stop shop for procedural intelligence in defense supply chains.

Analysts note that consolidating AI‑driven instruction tools reduces integration risk for OEMs seeking to modernize legacy processes. The move also signals Teleo Capital’s strategy to build a layered portfolio around aerospace digitalization. As contractors adopt more immersive technologies, Flatirons’ expanded suite could command premium pricing and drive higher recurring revenue.
