Good morning dealmakers, it’s Obey Martin Manayiti here with the US edition of the Wire from the New York newsroom. Surging global energy demand coupled with supply squeeze pulls private equity back toward traditional energy, driven by geopolitical tensions. In today’s Wire, we spotlight eight deals showing this momentum.

First, Exponent has agreed to invest in OFS, an Ireland‑based specialist technical services provider for the global power generation industry. Next, Salt Creek Capital acquired Craig Wire Products, a custom‑specification magnet wire manufacturer serving electric motor, generator and transformer OEMs. The post also highlights two high‑profile oil and gas transactions: Sunoco’s $600 million all‑cash purchase of Offen Petroleum, a Court Square portfolio company, and San Mateo Midstream’s $752 million acquisition of Cardinal Midstream Partners. These deals illustrate how geopolitical unrest, persistent inflation, rising fuel prices, and a slow clean‑energy rollout have opened the door to renewed investment in drilling and supporting services.

Exponent’s partnership will keep OFS’s co‑founders Eric Kavanagh and Joseph Dunne at the helm while the company expands its global reach. Salt Creek Capital’s takeover of Craig Wire Products will bring new leadership under Hank Pennington to continue growth in industrial motors, power generation, wind energy and aerospace markets.
